S4C funding protestors invade Welsh BBC newsroom

Protestors against changes to the funding of S4C, the BBC’s Welsh language channel, have occupied the BBC’s newsroom in Carmarthen.

Around 15 protestors have begun a peaceful sit-in demonstration within the news room to highlight their concern over the move from 2013 that will see the channel funded through the license fee rather than by the Government.

The BBC has blamed the change in funding on the Government and has said that negotiations between the two parties are ‘ongoing’.
