Hopkins announced as new head of commercial at DC Thomson

Mark Hopkins is to join DC Thomson in a week’s time following his appointment as the publishing group’s new head of commercial for newspapers.

Currently group digital director the Press Holdings Media Group, Hopkins will join DC Thomson on a full-time basis from 28 February, overseeing the business’s newspaper advertising departments, including Regional, Sunday Post, and Weekly News advertising.

He will also be responsible for developing new products and enterprises to build on the strength of the newspaper brands.

David Thomson, joint managing director, newspapers, said of Hopkins’s appointment: “Mark brings with him a wealth of experience to our recently restructured Newspaper Senior Management Team. Alongside newspaper editor-in-chief Donald Martin, Mark will be responsible for building the brand development of all our titles. I welcome Mark to the management team and look forward to working closely with him.”
