‘Facebook phone’ launched by HTC
HTC has unveiled the first phones to feature a dedicated Facebook button, ChaCha and Salsa.
Developed in collaboration with the social networking service the devices will grant users instant access to the site via the “context aware” button which alters its function dependant on what the user is doing.
This allows for seamless sharing of photographs and music from the phone and status updates of callers identified as Facebook friends will also be displayed.
Also unveiled by the technology firm was a new tablet device called the Flyer. Incorporating a pen it allows the synchronisation of sound recording with note taking.
Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said the firm wanted to create the “ultimate” socially connected phone
Both products are scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2011.
