The man behind the legendary Podge Lunch has agreed to join MiNetwork's growing panel of chairmen across the UK to help the network's continued development.

Phil Jones, the founder of Real Time Consultancy, has organised the Podge Lunch in London for the last 16 years and the Digital Podge lunch for the last eight years. He also organises the successful Sports Podge event in London and on Friday 25 February will host the very first Stodge Lunch at Manchester’s Harvey Nichols, which will see 90 digital and creative agency owners gather to network and exchange ideas.

Jones holds a number of chairmanships at agencies including Navyblue, Naked Penguin Boy, McKenzie Clark and Ingenuity Sport. He is a non-executive director at Green Square, a company which offers advice on buying and selling creative agency businesses, and he also acts as a mentor to a wide range of creative agency businesses including Photolink Creative Group in Manchester and Milky Tea in Liverpool.

Now as a member of MiNetwork’s panel of Regional Chairmen Jones will advise MiNetwork on developing networking and training events for the digital and creative industries and also assist in sourcing the leading digital thinkers to speak and present at MiNetwork events across the UK.

Speaking of the appointment of Phil Jones, MiNetwork’s managing director Richard Draycott, said: “Having known Phil for that last five years it is clear to see that he plugged right in to the heart of the UK’s digital sector and his contact book seems absolutely endless. For MiNetwork to sign Phil up as our Chairman for London is a real coup and I know that the knowledge, intelligence and contacts that he will bring to MiNetwork during 2011 will help us to add even more value and opportunities for our members.”

Jones has already played an integral part in helping MiNetwork organise an breakfast event taking place in Manchester on 25 February entitled The Stodge Breakfast: Digital Survival Strategies.

The event will see digital agency bosses including Matt Johnson of Mando Group, Nigel Hunter of Fuse8, Natalie Gross of Amaze, Nick Rhind of CTI Digital, Craig Johnson of Photolink and Mark AShipley of Shipley IP outlining their plans for business success in the year ahead.
