Piers Morgan is pulling out all the stops. Last night, with a live audience for the first time on his CNN show, he sat across from Donald Trump and got the tycoon to tell America face to face that he was really thinking about a run for the White House. He would decide by June, he said.

"I love this country but there is a lack of respect for this country," he said. He had hard words for China. "I would put a 25% tax on their products, "said Trump. "I see them as the enemy. They do not compete, they cheat,"

Piers tried to pull the Donald back, suggesting he would never make a diplomat. The Chinese as friends? "I think they are enemies," Trump insisted.

On the armed conflict front, Afghanistan and Iraq are not the problem, said Trump."The big problem is Pakistan. Why can't we find Bin Laden. He is 6' 6" and on dialysis." Left unsaid was the thought that the Pakistanis could be trying harder to find the Al Qaeda leader.

As for Trump's possible Republican rivals , Romney he respected and Sarah Palin he liked. "But she will never win." On the other hand, "I am tempted to run. I think I could win. You need a person like me running the country for a while"

It was all great television and might propel Piers up the ratings chart. But will it propel Trump into the White House? That's another question.

The previous night Piers interviewed the Winklevoss twins , the Olympic athletes who believe Mark Zuckerberg stole the Facebook idea from them. It was one of the Brit's best so far. He challenged them at every turn, even asking them to put a figure on the money they still want from Zuckerberg to make it all go away .They already have had $65 million, but wouldn't say how much more they wanted. The twins admitted they were on Facebook themselves (more than 1000 friends ). Isn't that a little ironic, asked Piers.

"Not as ironic as if we weren't on it,"said one. " Technically we're using our idea."

They thought the Social Network film was too nice to Zuckerberg : "It made him appear to be conflicted: he wasn't". Some Americans commented that Piers was rude, interrupting the twins , not allowing them to finish a sentence. But, hey, that's the British way.
