Johnsons Cleaners has appointed Juice Digital to manage its social media activity following a competitive pitch.

The dry cleaning chain hopes ramping up its social media use will "increase engagement with customers", generate "feedback and ideas" and raise awareness of the services offered in its 460 UK branches.

Manchester-based Juice will spread the word about Johnsons across "a variety of social networking platforms", but it will focus particularly on Facebook and Twitter.

Melanie Cheung-Turner, marketing director for Johnsons Cleaners, said: "We’ve been watching the growth of social networking for some time now, but due to time constraints we haven’t had the opportunity to use these channels to their full potential.
