Former head of communications for Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) and BBC journalist Bob Wylie has joined social enterprise The Wise Group as head of communications.

Wylie left his previous job as communications director last May as part of a ‘shake up’ by the organisation after four years in the role, the latter months of which included a media storm surrounding the expenses of the organisation’s three most senior members of staff.

Questions were also raised by the media about expense claims from those working within the organisation, including by Wylie, during a visit to Manchester on the day that Rangers played Zenit St Petersburg in the Uefa Cup final in 2009.

He has since paid back the money claimed through the organisation during the visit.

Prior to working at SPT, Wylie also spent 12 years at BBC Scotland, latterly as an investigative reporter.
