Facebook store developed for Young British Designers

A Facebook store for Young British Designers (YBD) has been developed by Rees Bradley Hepburn.

The store allowed consumers to buy designer items from the brand through Facebook, as well as search through YBD’s product range, add-to-basket, edit cart contents and check out securely.

Also integrated into the shop are features such as ‘like’, ‘share’ and ‘tweet’ buttons.

Julian Whitehead, founder and managing director of Young British Designers, commented: “As the news that ASOS have just become the world’s first fully integrated Facebook store, we are delighted to be only a few hours behind them. It’s great to be able to offer our customers the ability to shop within the Facebook environment and they have welcomed the opportunity. We have been amazed by our customers’ reaction to the initiative."

Paul Bennison, head of business development for RBH, added: “Retail is changing. Customers are demanding new ways of interacting with retailers and those that embrace these new channels, will reap the rewards.”
