Facebook testing virtual retail app 'Buy with Friends'

A new feature is currently being tested by Facebook which could allow its users to receive discounts on virtual goods, bought with Facebook Credits.

The feature, entitled ‘Buy with Friends’ would see users use an app to make a purchase using Facebook Credits, which would be shared through their newsfeeds, which can then be bought at a discount by their friends directly through the feed.

The announcement of the feature’s development was made Deb Liu, head of commerce product marketing for Facebook at the Inside Social Apps Conference in San Francisco this week and could be expanded to offer real items in the same manner, should retailers look to use Facebook for sales.
