Zuckerberg’s Facebook page is hacked
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has found himself a victim of a security flaw on his social networking site after hackers were able to break into his account to voice their discontent with the growing corporatism of the site.
Taking control of Zuckerberg’s fan page the hacker posted an angry message which read: “If Facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way?”
The embarrassing breach comes at a bad time for the firm just as it tries to reassure its users privacy, notably the sharing of users addresses and mobile numbers with third party developers.
Parallels have also been drawn with the advice given to lesser users of the service, where advice from security consultants has always been to take better care of their privacy.
Many are now likely to draw unhappy conclusions from the affair, wondering whether if Facebook can’t protect its highest profile member what chance is there for the rest of us.
