Online music video service Vevo, owned by record labels Universal, Sony and the Abu Dhabi Media Company is set to launch in the UK in April, alongside partner Google.

The channel, already up-and-running in the US, will use content from Universal, Sony, EMI and The Orchard, with the aim of delivering premium quality content, through original programming and music videos.

Giles Ivey, former digital sales director for Sky Media has been working as a consultant in preparation of the channel’s launch, with the sales team currently being recruited.

The Vevo YouTube channel was launched last October in a bid to build awareness and begin to reach out to brands and agencies.
