A Manchester blogger has set out to put the city's advertising, design, digital and marketing agencies on the map - literally.

Manchester's Creative Playground has been created by the The Cool Commentator website to help people looking to find an agency in the city.

The map so far features around 80 agencies and its creators say it will be useful for clients shopping around for new agencies and students searching for placements.

The Cool Commentator's Tom Cleeland, who also writes a blog for The Drum, said the map had been viewed more than 3000 times since going live a week ago.

"The aim is to make the map a go-to source for anyone looking to find agencies in the area," he said.

Cleeland also believes the map, which is being colour-coded to make it easier to find agencies depending on their skills, will throw up some trends about Manchester's creative scene.

"The main trend is that the newer digital agencies mostly reside in the Northern Quarter, which can be compared to the development of the creative industries in cities like London and New York," Cleeland said.
