ASOS plans Facebook store

Online fashion retailer As Seen On Screen (ASOS) has announced that it is to launch a Facebook store at the end of the month.

The portal will showcase the retailer’s entire product range on the social network, according to chief executive Nick Robertson, who said: "Our customers spend a lot of time on Facebook and this will allow them to shop at ASOS without having to leave the site."

ASOS’s Facebook microsite follows the launch of dedicated websites in America, France and Germany with a “handful” of sites in unnamed locations still to be launched worldwide this year.

Robertson stated that the digital retailer would be “upping the ante” with its marketing efforts in these territories

ASOS reported a 156% surge in overseas sales to £43.7m on the back of these initiatives, helping to offset slower trend growth in the UK.
