The head of marketing for Surgicare is one of two new senior hires at Manchester PR agency Brazen.

Gemma Gore moves from the cosmetic surgery company to become a senior account director at Brazen. She has previously worked for nearby rivals Tangerine PR and MC2.

Also taking up a senior account director post is Catherine Webber, who joins from Grayling where she worked on brands including McDonald's, Breast Cancer Care and Age Concern.

Like Gore, Webber is no stranger to the region's PR scene having spent five years at Communique PR and four years at Biss Lancaster earlier in her career.

Brazen founder, Nina Webb, said: "Gemma and Catherine are both well-known, highly respected PR practitioners and we are very proud to welcome them to the Brazen team. Their collective experience specifically in the consumer PR arena will complement our team’s own credentials and suit our client base perfectly."

Webb claimed the new arrivals were joining Brazen on the back of a bumper year for the agency. "We were lucky enough to have a phenomenal year in 2010, growing 27% to hit the £2.65m mark," she said.
