A newly redeveloped website for business development body Scottish Enterprise (SE) has gone live, developed over a six-month period by Dog Digital.

The new site is part of the Glasgow agency’s remit, having developed the website for Talent Scotland last year, and currently developing a new site for the organisation’s other sister body Scottish Development International (SDI).

The new website for SE has been refreshed in order to create an easier-to-use navigation function and also to allow customers and stakeholders to find relevant information in a more clear manner.

Jenny Honey, digital communications manager for SE, explained: “With budgets reducing across the sector we really need to make sure that everything we’ve got does the best job for us and we realise that the website is a prime way of engaging with business customers as well as communicating. This is part of the investment to do that and to drastically reduce our marketing spend in other areas.”

The site took six months to redevelop and is expected to continue to be updated in the coming months.

Honey explained what the agency has been briefed with achieving in redeveloping the SDI website alongside the Scottish Enterprise inhouse team, set to launch around February/March.

“The SDI website will be refreshed with a parallel design through the SE website and the idea is that they will start to cross refer. Previously people seemed to have no idea that SE and SDI were part of the same organisation, delivering different services and so for a company wanting to export, they should be able to understand that they should be able to get support from SE as well as SDI,” said Honey.

“That site will be all about clarity. We’re being clear to customers about what’s on offer for them, how they can get it, who delivers it, trying to get our processes on the website clear and to ensure that people understand the breadth of what is on offer to them.

As strategic partner for SE, Dog Digital has worked for the organisation since May 2009 having delivered the Talent Scotland website, as well as some microsites in the past.
