ITV North's head of technology joins MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK, the Salford media studios owned by Peel Media and SIS Live, has appointed John O’Shaughnessy as its head of technology.

O’Shaughnessy, who joins from ITV North where he was head of technology, had worked for the broadcaster for 25 years and was responsible for the technology requirements for a number of ITV shows including Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

He said: “After over 25 years of enjoyable and productive time at ITV I am now keenly looking forward to the challenges ahead at MediaCityUK UK. I am delighted to get the opportunity to be a member of the team that will develop MediaCityUK from its inception to becoming a world class studio and resources facility that will redefine the reference for production and content creation”.

Paul Clennell, chief technology officer for Peel Media, said: “We’re thrilled that John O'Shaughnessy is joining us as our studios officially open for business. This is a key appointment for MediaCityUK and John’s vast experience will be a great asset to our team.”
