Gardening and home retailer Dobbies has appointed Tangible Group as its advertising and marketing consultancy, having won a two-way pitch against incumbent Merle.

Over the next decade, Dobbies plans on growing its current number of 26 stores to 100, and has primarily tasked Tangible to increase its brand penetration throughout the UK, particularly in England.

Work will begin on the account in March.

Phil Douty, Dobbies sales and marketing director said: “We’d like to thank the Merle Agency’s contribution to our business over recent years. They have been a key player in the evolution of the Dobbies brand and we wish them extremely well for the future.”

Ed Brooke from the Tangible Group, added: “ We’re delighted to have been appointed by Dobbies. This is a brand that has massive affection in Scotland and huge ambition for growth in England. Our task will be to nurture the former while helping to support the growth of the latter”
