The new website for E4 teen drama Skins has gone live, following the unveiling of the cast for the forthcoming fifth season.

Developed by Realise, the site includes introductory character profiles, a blog containing news about the series, information on the previous four series, an episode guide, behind the scenes videos and many more features including an app.

The series will return to E4 in January with a promotional tour with the cast set to take place at the same time.

Meanwhile, digital production company Somethin’ Else has been commissioned by Channel 4 to create an interactive media strategy around the hit drama, integrating the new characters into a range of social networking destinations ahead of the broadcast of series five on E4 in January.

Working with drama producer Company Pictures, Somethin’ Else will devise an integrated interactive media campaign around the Series 5 characters, to enable them to interact with fans in real time.

Plans to extend the story into the online space include the launch of the official Roundview College website, the featured college in Skins, through which fans will be able to interact with characters from the drama.

Somethin’ Else will also be launching a branded tab within the official Skins Facebook Page to aggregate all of the online conversations and help fans discover the story world as it unfolds.
