Former Navyblue creative director Jonathan Evans has revealed the new name for his new business following a last minute change of plan.

Evans left Navyblue in March this year and shortly after announced his intention to launch his own consultancy, which was to be called brass.

However, his announcement coincided with the news from Leeds-based agency Brahm that it was to rebrand in July... as Brass.

Having recognised that sometimes you need to be the bigger man, especially when you are the smaller agency, Evans has now revealed the new name for his agency - Blood.

Evans said: "We like the name brass. But it seems we're not the only ones. Because, at the same time that we were trumpeting the launch of brass in Edinburgh, a few like-minded folk were doing exactly the same in Leeds. Which leaves us with a bit of a problem.

"Now, those who know us will testify that we're not really ones to throw the towel in without a fight. But we do recognise that sometimes you have to be the bigger man. (Especially when you're the smaller company.) And so, in just a few weeks, we'll be sounding the Last Post on brass and changing our name.

"Rest assured, it's the only thing that is changing around here. We're very much alive and kicking. And, more importantly, we can honestly say that dropping brass hasn't taken any of the shine off what we do. In fact, it's made us stronger. More determined. And we reckon our new name reflects that.

"It won't be everyone's cup of cocoa. But then, bland's not our style. We're passionate about what we do and our new name tells you everything you need to know about our love for our work. Our new name is blood. And, our new site, with examples of our latest work, will be up soon."

Updated: Evans would like to point out that he has been trading under the company title Blood since October.
