Easyjet owner easyGroup has won its battle to have online dating site Easydate to change its name.

The website, which run several online sites and has a customer based of around 13 million, has announced that it plans to rebrand as Cupid.

Easydate employs 15 people at its head office in Edinburgh, and another 200 in Ukraine.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of EasyGroup, which owns easyjet and easy car, had claimed that EasyDate had been attempting to trade off of the ‘Easy’ brand and had instructed lawyers to investigate.

The plan to change the EasyDate name to Cupid is expected to be approved by shareholders next year.
