Barnsley Building Society has asked Digital Consortium to create a microsite featuring animated characters to help savers choose the best type of account to meet their needs.

The site will include animations illustrating the different accounts on offer, such as Online Saver, Online Bonds and Online ISAs, while also explaining the positives and negatives of each.

Specially designed tools and calculators to help consumers compare accounts will also be made available.

The animations will feature on both the microsite and third party websites, including YouTube, in a bid to reach a broader audience.

Liz Baker, client services director at Digital Consortium, said: “Barnsley Building Society has some highly competitive savings products, which often feature in best buy tables on comparison sites. Through the microsite it wants to share its extensive knowledge about savings with those people who are not sure about the ins and outs of the different types of accounts out there.

“Throughout the year the theme of the site will change inline with the different seasons. Flash banners have been included in the campaign to drive traffic to the microsite from a number of third party websites across advertising networks.”
