Nesta, The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, has published the first ever map of British creativity by pinpointing the UK’s leading “creative hotspots.”

Analysing the employment make up of major urban centres NESTA were able to identify Bath, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Manchester as boasting the highest concentrations of people working in the arts, architecture, advertising, marketing, computer games and the media.

The interactive map allows users to zoom down to individual streets to see who has set up shop where after researchers compiled official stats for each region.

Nesta head of policy and research, Stian Westlake, said: “With the right policy interventions, these creative clusters have the potential to become global hubs for high-growth, innovative creative industries and create wider economic growth.”
