Tesco Bank finds some Merchant Soul for its Football Challenge

Tesco Bank has appointed Merchant Soul to lead its community programme including its involvement with football and the arts.

Glasgow-based Merchant Soul will be responsible for the creation of a campaign which will focus on community relations, event management, PR, staff engagement and creative.

Tesco Bank announced the Tesco Bank Football Challenge in August, a £1m community football partnership with the Scottish Football Association with a focus on Scottish youth that aims to reach 72,000 young Scots across al levels and ability in around 1,600 primary schools across Scotland 32 local authorities.

Merchant Soul recently appointed Scott Steedman, commercial director for Merchant Soul, and former member of European sports marketing agency TEAM Marketing.

Stephen Halpin, managing director of Merchant Soul, commented: “I am pleased to announce Merchant Soul’s appointment as Tesco Bank’s community development agency. We are working closely with them to develop a fully integrated engagement and communications programme that will support the investment. This is an exciting new business win for Merchant Soul and the first of a number of announcements that we will be making over the next month.”
