MessageSpace, the advertising agency run by the author of right wing Guido Fawkes blog, acted as broker on over £29k in advertising deals to right wing blogs in the run up to the general election, the electoral commission has revealed.

Paul Staines bought political adverts on other blogs, such as Iain Dale and Tory Bear, by using MessageSpace as a broker, invoicing Conservative central office for the bills.

Staines was an outspoken critic of Labour during the campaign but has since attacked the coalition for not being right wing enough.

It was also revealed that John Prescott submitted an invoice for two “in-house movies” during the campaign.
