Magners GB, a division of C&C Group, has joined the drinks industry’s social responsibility body, the Portman Group.
This will mean that The Portman Group now has nine member companies alongside eight existing drinks brands; AB InBev; Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands UK; Beverage Brands UK; Carlsberg UK; Diageo GB; Heineken UK;; Molson Coors Brewing Company UK; and Pernod Ricard UK.
C&C Group manufactures, markers and distributes brands such as Magners cider, Gaymers cider, Tennent’s lager and Blackthorn cider.
Seymour Fortescue, chairman of the Portman Group said: “By joining the Portman Group, Magners GB is demonstrating its serious commitment to marketing its products responsibly and in a way that does not encourage excessive or underage drinking. Portman Group members operate with the highest levels of social responsibility to ensure that their products are enjoyed sensibly by adults throughout the UK.”
