Urban Realm named Magazine of the Year at PPA Scotland Awards

Carnyx publication Urban Realm, the sister architectural journal of The Drum, has been named as Magazine of the Year at this year’s PPA Scotland Awards.

The awards, presented last night in Glasgow, named Urban Realm as Magazine of the Year and also handed it the award for Best Magazine Design – Business & Professional, little over a year after the title underwent a rebrand from Prospect, and a complete design overhaul of the magazine and website.

The redesign was handled by Glasgow design consultancy, Stand.

The quarterly publication covers architecture news in Scotland and has become widely recognised for its annual Carbuncle Awards, highlighting the least attractive places around the country.

Other winners on the night were Tree News for Best Magazine Design – Consumer, Mandy Rhodes picked up Columnist of the Year for Holyrood Magazine and Editor of the Year – Consumer was named as Bryce Ritchie from Bunkered by PSP Publishing.
