A demonstration of the SMART table, a multi-touch computer which responds to natural hand gestures and aimed at primary schools will be demonstrated at the forthcoming MiNetwork app development forum.

As part of the evening, a SMART Table will be on display to allow people to test how it operates in a simple and intuitive manner.

Through its large, horizontal user interface the interactive table aims to become a gathering place where multiple users can interact with data and one another.

The demonstration will show how apps can also be used in an educational environment and be handled by Interface 3.

New applications being developed for the platform will also be presented ahead of the forum discussion on app development for brands taking place.

Speaking on the forum will be John Campbell, managing director of Spider Online, Hoss Gifford from FlamJam and Bob Thomson, lead developer for Storm ID discussing their views on app development and how they can be used by companies for promotional purposes.

The event will take place on 9 December, 6pm at the lounge bar Bond No.9 on Commercial Street in Leith.
