Single malt Whisky The Isle of Jura has begun an online travel photography competition, in partnership with VisitScotland.

The ‘Wish You Were Here’ online competition aims to find the world’s most inspiring places and invites amateur photographers around the world the chance to win a trip to Jura to enjoy a photographic experience with expert advice from Jim Richardson from National Geographic.

Taking place during Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, a marketing campaign from VisitScotland that aims to inspire visitors to come to Scotland and sample the country’s produce.

Three winners, and their partners will be invited to enjoy a week’s stay at the Jura lodge, take a VIP tour of the Jura Distillery and island and become involved in a two- day photography masterclass by Jim Richardson.

All travel arrangements will be paid for and the winners will also receive an Olympus E-PL1 camera to capture images from their visit.

Photos of an inspiring destination must be uploaded onto an e-postcard template alongside a description on the back of that e-postcard what makes it so inspirational.

A panel of judges including National Geographic’s Jim Richardson will assess a shortlist of the very best ‘postcards’ and pick three lucky winners - one from North America, one from the UK and a third from Europe.

The competition will run for eight weeks closing on Friday 21 January 2011.
