Facebook pulls Qur’an burning video
A 15 year old girl has been arrested on charges of religious hatred after setting fire to a copy of the Qur’an in her school playground and posting video footage of the act on Facebook.
The incident, which took place in the Sandwell district of Birmingham, was watched by other pupils.
Another child, a boy aged 14, was arrested for posting threats on the site. Both their profiles and the video were subsequently removed by Facebook.
Muslims revere reproductions of the book, in any form, regarding its despoilment as an offensive act.
Both teenagers have been bailed pending further enquiries.
