Angry Birds to put consoles in a flap
Fresh from conquering the smartphone market, armed with nothing more than a catapult, Rovio are set to slingshot their hit creation round to the big boys by launching on the home consoles.
In less than a year the title has notched up an impressive 36 million downloads thanks to a simple premise, accurate physics model and a healthy dose of fun.
Angry Birds creator Peter Vesterbacka, of Rovio Games, told the BBCs Newsbeat show that smartphone owners still have much to look forward to: “The smartphone market is actually turning out to be the biggest and most played out there. So it’s starting to beat the traditional games on consoles and PCs.”
An Angry Birds Christmas Special edition is also in the works to cash in on the festivities.
