The Famous Grouse will return to TV with its 15th consecutive festive campaign which launches Friday 26 November. The five-week long campaign will see the Maxxium UK-owned whisky brand reach an estimated 40 million viewers.

Created by AMV BBDO, the new ad, ‘Grouse Hunt’, shows a slightly ruffled grouse fleeing from a series of loud bangs. Embarrassment quickly follows for the grouse as it realises the bangs were party poppers from a surprise party held in its honour.

Maxxium brand manager Linda Sooprayen said of the new campaign: “The fact that we are investing again in TV advertising for The Famous Grouse underlines our commitment to driving consumer demand during this key selling period. The new advert perfectly combines the brand’s great history and heritage with our famous witty tone, and of course features our iconic bird, which has become such a recognisable and much loved feature of Christmas television.”

A further new advert celebrating the brand’s 30th year as the best selling whisky in Scotland is set to roll out 2010.
