Reports in The Times suggest that B list celeb Katie Price, aka Jordan, could be about to go middle class after being approached by the BBC to guest edit an episode of their flagship Today programme.

Every year the show appoints five guest editors to broaden the appeal of its broadcasts over the festive holiday season, providing a different perspective on current affairs.

It is a role which will see Price handed responsibility for between a third and a half of the content, allowing the glamour model to direct that days news agenda.

Price has built a formidable marketing machine around her celebrity exploits, boosted by a string of high profile marriages.

From early page three work for the Sun in the 1990s Price later branched out into TV via I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here and has spilled gallons of ink on a series of novels, children’s books and a four volume autobiography.

Previous guest editors have included Stephen Hawking, Bono and (ironically) Queen Noor of Jordan.
