Waitrose hopes for festive boost with social media campaign

Supermarket chain Waitrose is launching a new social media campaign including its first ever Facebook app, which features celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.

The Berkshire-based client's 'Heston's Prize Pudding' app gives users a chance to claim prizes ranging from mince pies to a year's worth of Waitrose shopping for one lucky winner.

The launch of the Facebook app coincides with the arrival of the 'Heston from Waitrose' Hidden Orange Christmas pudding in stores.

Kitcatt Nohr created the app and it has also redesigned the official Waitrose Facebook fan page.

The agency, which has worked with the supermarket since 2007, was handed a brief to use social media to generate brand engagement and drive sales over the festive season.
