Aviva has appointed CMW to handle a global positioning brief for its investment arm after a competitive pitch involving RAR.

CMW picked up the business after a rigorous selection process that got underway last year. Recommended Agency Register advised during the shortlisting stage, identifying recommended agencies including the eventual winner.

The agency's task is to develop a global positioning and brand strategy for Aviva Investors, creating a brand campaign and marketing communications for the European, North American and Asian markets.

The work will target Aviva Investors' internal and external stakeholders and clients. The new positioning, currently in research, is due to go to market earlier next year.

Jennifer Horner, Aviva Investors' global marketing director, said: "We have a real desire to create a strong point of difference for our brand and our communications to stand apart from our competitors. CMW will play a pivotal role in supporting us on this journey."
