Media figures transfer to football game's starting 11
A host of figures from the worlds of media, advertising, computer games and the City are to team up in the production of a football based videogame.
I am Playr puts players on the turf of the fictional River Park FC but it wont confine gamers to simply knocking the ball around.
We R Interactive, who unveiled the game today describe it as occupying “the space where the computer game and film industry meet” and will offer players the opportunity to involve themselves in everything from training regimens to the lifestyle decisions of their footballer avatars.
Professional actors have been hired to portray River Park’s finest, including a coterie of WAG’s for some of the off pitch action by splicing pre recorded footage with real time interactions.
Headed up by David Rose, a significant figure in the UK gaming scene, We R Interactive also counts Peter mead, co-founder of advertising group Abbot Mead Vickers and Fru Hazlitt, head of ITV’s sales operation.
Rose states their aim was to create a more “visceral” feel to the game by boosting emotional attachment to the portrayed characters.
