The competition to attract Manchester's Christmas shoppers is hotting up this week as the Arndale centre launches its festive marketing campaign created by Refinery.

Manchester-based Refinery was appointed by Arndale in June and has come up with theme 'Whatever you've got in mind, we've got inside' which will run across all the centre's campaigns, branding and website.

The theme's first airing is in the Christmas campaign which includes outdoor, press, radio and online ads and a 24-page magazine - 'Inside' - which will be sent to 370,000 homes in and around Manchester.

Nick Wyatt, account director at Refinery, said: “The new campaign is our response to Manchester Arndale’s brief to communicate 'what’s inside the box' and the complete shopping experience at Manchester Arndale. It showcases the breadth of brands and products available at the shopping centre in an aspirational and relevant way.

"We have also tweaked the centre’s previous strapline to 'the Centre of your City' which continues to help position Manchester Arndale as the hub of Manchester’s retail offer and integral part of the City Centre.”

The Arndale will face local competition for custom this Christmas from out of town shopping mall The Trafford Centre, which last week launched a seasonal TV ad through BJL.

Liverpool One and St David's in Cardiff have also recently launched Christmas campaigns.
