Manchester agency Music has redesigned the visual identity and trophies for the Brit Awards. See its work in our gallery...

Music was given the brief as part of moves by the awards' organisers to inject new life into the 30-year-old ceremony.

"We proposed that the trophy, already coveted and renowned in its current format, could reflect a more iconic status by streamlining and distilling its shape, and become a blank canvas for creativity by casting it in white," Music said.

Each year an "acclaimed and notable Briton" will be given the opportunity to put their design onto Music's 'blank canvas' statuettes.

For next year's ceremony, due to take place in February, it will be Vivienne Westwood.

The new trophy becomes a core component of Music's new Brit Awards visual identity, with its outline forming the centre of a ‘B’.

Music explained: "Continuing the idea of the blank canvas of the trophy, this unique graphic shape provides a ‘creative container’ for changing imagery, reflecting the diversity of talent celebrated by the Brits."
