Sound equipment company Audio-Technica has appointed Harrogate PR agency Dead Dinosaur to handle a social media campaign as it looks to raise its profile in the UK.

Audio-Technica, which has its UK office in Leeds and sells headphones, microphones and other audio equipment across the world, wants Dead Dinosaur to help it "engage more effectively with its customers".

The agency says it will target music enthusiasts and online influencers with a campaign encouraging them to make their own versions of Christmas tracks.

Bands, DJs and music producers across the country will be urged to take part in the Christmas competition.

Dead Dinosaur managing director, Chris Norton, said: "We held a strategic social media workshop with the marketing team a few months back now which has really helped them to see the huge potential that social media has to offer and they seem to be embracing it with both hands.”

Harvey Roberts, senior marketing manager at Audio-Technica, added: "We have noticed a seismic shift in the way our customers are interacting with us and we want to make sure we are doing all we can to give them the best service possible.”
