Newcastle agency Sumo has curated a new exhibition which shows what happens when designers play the Victorian parlour game Exquisite Corpse.

The exhibition shows 42 artworks that are joined together in what is effectively a visual game of Chinese whispers - each designer's piece has been influenced by the previous image.

It is running at the Newcastle Arts Centre and brings together designers and illustrators from 14 countries.

Some familiar names including Mark Studio, D8, Infinite Design, Blue River and Sumo itself are among the contributors.

And visitors will have the chance to add their own 'exquisite corpse' to the sequence.

Jim Richardson, managing director of Sumo, said: ‘We are pleased to have been able to highlight local agencies and bring international talent to the region."

Exquisite Corpse is open now and runs until 30 November. It is part of the Design Event festival which is running across the North East from tomorrow until the end of this month.

Based around the theme of 'conversation', Design Event features more than 30 events including exhibitions, talks and tours in Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead and Newcastle.
