Independent PR agency Corixa Communications is to "join forces" with McCann Erickson PR in Bristol.
The agencies stress that this is not a buyout as such, but an "affiliate" arrangement that will see Corixa move into McCann's Redcliff Street offices, work with its team and share resources.
Corixa MD Helen Marsden (pictured), who founded the business in Bristol 17 years ago, said: “We’ve guarded our independence pretty fiercely for nearly two decades.
“But I believe that the specialist versus integrated agency debate is now dead - the evolution of online marketing has made an integrated communications approach an absolute requirement for our clients’ brands and businesses.
“The move means that our clients will have access to the full range of high quality services McCann offers, as well as the unparalleled data and resources that McCann has on tap.”
Fraser Bradshaw, managing director of McCann Bristol, added: "We are delighted to have such a strong team as Corixa now affiliate with us.
"This reflects our continued commitment to the strategic enhancement of our offer as an integrated agency, and complements our growth in social media, events and B2B communications."
