The developers behind MediaCityUK in Salford Quays have submitted plans to convert a three storey building into a range of office suites suitable for small creative companies.

Peel Media has dubbed its proposal 'The Greenhouse' and says it will provide small companies with an affordable way to be part of its £650m MediaCityUK site and become neighbours with big-name tenants including the BBC.

The building, adjacent to the Pie Factory studios and the University of Salford's new campus, has so far been used to house 2000 personnel working on MediaCity's construction.

Stephen Wild, managing director of real estate for Peel Media, said: "The Greenhouse will provide self contained office suites spread over three floors. It is located less than a minute's walk from the new tram terminus at the heart of MediaCityUK and complements the media hub we've created at The Pie Factory.

"It is an ideal solution for small companies looking for a cost effective and flexible way to be part of the MediaCityUK environment".

The Greenhouse has been designed by architects Stephenson Bell and work will begin once planning permission is granted.

Peel Media says it will reveal leasing and cost details soon on its new website for The Greenhouse.
