Virgin Atlantic’s first ever global TV advert will launch today in cinemas in London and the south east before hitting national TV on Sunday 3 October.

The £6m campaign features the strapline “Your airline's either got it or it hasn't” and takes the viewer on a metaphorical flight with Virgin Atlantic, presenting a “surreal and glamorous world of airline iconography”.

The 90-second ad was created by RKCR/Y&R and looks to emulate the success the Crawley-based airline enjoyed last year with its “Still Red Hot” 25th birthday campaign.

The soundtrack for the campaign is provided by Muse – a rare instance of the band licensing the use of its music in advertising.

Virgin Atlantic director of sales and marketing Paul Dickinson commented on the new ad: “Our objective in producing this TV ad was to bring to life the 'it' that makes Virgin Atlantic such a special and unique airline. Whilst we wanted to show off some elements of our world-beating products and outstanding customer service, we were keen to do that in a highly memorable, eye catching and amusing way.”
