Aston Martin shunts iPhone out of cool brands index

Apple’s iPhone has been knocked off its perch as Britain’s coolest brand by Aston Martin, proving that traditional favourites can still eclipse their cutting edge rivals.

Despite being nearly a century old Aston Martin was able to dislodge the young pretender into second spot thanks to a combination of enduring Bond allure.

Speaking to the Telegraph Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the coolbrands council, said “Aston Martin combines three key elements – power, beauty and soul. Its sleek, polished and sexy cars ensure the brand continues to dominate the list of the nation’s coolest brands, as judged by experts and consumers alike.”

Technology dominated the rest of the list however with top the iPod, Blackberry and Bang & Olufsen rounding off the top five.
