The brand identity and website for art and craft organisation Smiths Row has been designed by Silk Pearce.
Smiths Row, previously known as Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery has been rebranded with a new name and look with the aim of widening its visitor appeal and also reflect its role with contemporary artists and makers from Suffolk and further a-field.
The logo includes changing patterns which identify specific gallery services and activities, including the shop, or Smiths Row Two, which offers art activities for children and young people with disabilities.
The typography and design style for use in printed literature and on the website have also been developed to position the gallery as a ‘flexible’, ‘vibrant’ and ‘lively’ arts organisation, rather than an historic collection of paintings or a museum.
A series of design templates have also been created to allow the gallery to quickly create event posters and other promotional items with a similar look.
