The Drum has learned that Jayne Ponzio, head of communications, sponsorship and marketing Services for pensions and investment brand Aegon UK, has left.

Ponzio took on responsibility for overseeing the marketing communications at Aegon UK in February, following the departure of Steve Clode, head of marketing and in May she was at the forefront of unveiling the brand’s new strapline ‘Be Ready for Life’.

AEGON spokesperson Lesley McPherson confirmed Ponzio’s departure to The Drum, explaining that her reasons for doing so were personal.

“During her time with the company Jayne has played a key role in developing Aegon’s rebrand work in the UK and in building awareness of the AEGON name through our partnership with British Tennis. We’d like to thank Jayne for her significant contribution and wish her well in the future.”

It is understood that the company does not plan to recruit a successor with Ian Murray, head of sponsorship continuing to be responsible for the brand’s partnership with British Tennis, while Susan Wilcock, head of brand management and external communications will continue to be responsible for advertising and external communications.
