The Drum has learned that Matador Digital, the company formed out of 2Fluid Digital, which itself was formed following the liquidation of 2 Fluid Creative, has gone into liquidation.

Owned by managing director Jackie Doherty, listed as the only director of the company, Matador Digital was formed following the change from 2Fluid Digital on 3 June this year.

“We’ve always been a company that has prided ourselves as being the original internet agency. As such we are redeveloping our product offerings and services to take our customers forward,” says a Doherty in a message on the website’s holding page.

2Fluid Creative closed in September of last year following a winding up petition being presented to the court of sessions.

According to the status of 2Fluid Digital on CreditSafe, the Glasgow digital agency had 20 employees before changing its title to Matador Digital

Matador Digital contacted The Drum with the following statement to clarify the situation;

“Jackie has come through some very difficult trading conditions with a new venture, called The Matador Group. The liquidation of Matador Digital was a technicality relating to her previous business at 2 Fluid Digital.

"Properly restructured, Matador is now going forward employing 10 members of staff based in Glasgow’s Merchant City. Early indications are that Jackie has lost none of the touch which made her a success at Reality more than 10 years ago.

"The Matador Group has a bright future and very healthy order book, designing websites for some of the most prominent companies in Europe. Recent appointments include a financial director and senior business advisers. Indeed, the company is seeking to employ a number of people in the areas of project management, web development and design."
