McCann Erickson Birmingham’s PR team has helped launch a new restaurant in Dubai for Michelin-starred chef, Gary Rhodes.

The new restaurant, Rhodes Twenety10 has been opened by hotel Le Royal Meridién Hotel + Spa with the agency hosting key UK journalists, handling interviews with the chef and managing follow-up press relations in the UK.

This is Rhodes’ second restaurant in the Middle East and allows guests to share platters and design their own menu – with key dishes being the Rhodes Twenty10 burger, which combines a fillet steak burger with roast confit potato and melted foie gras, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding.

The PR also recently helped energy firm npower kick-off its sponsorship of the Football League with a PR campaign unveiling the new League trophies.

npower has created new trophies for the champions of League One and League Two and a further trophy for the winners of the Championship, which will be presented alongside the traditional ‘Lady’ trophy.

The new trophies were unveiled on the eve of the 2010/2011 season with a campaign by the agency, which focused on national, regional and online media.

Interviews were secured for npower and trophy maker, Ottewill, with News of the World and Sky Sports News in the build up to the opening weekend games. Careful targeting of title-contending towns and cities delivered good regional coverage boosted by widespread online exposure through club and sports websites.
