Buyers circle Realtime Worlds for ‘MyWorld 3D’
Administrators for Realtime Worlds, the collapsed Dundee games firm, have informed 23 employees working on ‘MyWorld 3D’ that they are to be re-employed.
Explaining the move joint administrator Ken Pattulo of Begbies Traynor said that MyWorld had been attracting “considerable interest” from potential buyers, making the project viable as a standalone business.
MyWorld 3D, due to be released in 2011, is described as a social gaming experience that recreates the real world combined with 3D gaming and social media.
It would recreate the entirety of Britain, allowing players to race, fly and fish in the environments and integrate with existing networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Poor sales of the firm’s flagship title, All Points Bulletin, led to Realtime’s collapse and the loss of all 217 jobs.
Buyers on both sides of the Atlantic are now said to be interested in the firm, which is being restructured to provide ongoing support for APB’s online service.
