The newest kid on the social media block has emerged in the form of Twifficiency, a gimmick which has quickly taken Twitter by storm thanks to the promise of calculating your “twitter efficiency” based upon “twitter activity”.

Created by 17 year old “coder, designer, gamer and wannabe entrepreneur” James Cunningham the site has already received more users than there are people in his home town of Dundee.

His success is such that Twifficiency has entered the top trending topics on twitter but it has not been an unmitigated success. Users including Elena Lappin quickly tweeted to complain: “Twifficiency is a scam. It tweets your results without permission, and now has the tools to invade your account. I’m a 100% idiot. Are you?”

However Cunningham replied: “It wasn’t meant to be spam, however it wasn’t meant to be used by this many people. Nothing I ever do catches on so it wasn’t a concern.”

Nevertheless despite some teething troubles Cunningham has certainly made a name for himself with job offers already flooding in, watch this space.
