Former Amaze managing partner Nick Bradshaw has returned to the industry after taking a controlling stake in Chester agency Oakbase.

In February this year The Drum revealed that Bradshaw had left Amaze "to pursue a new opportunity". That has now been confirmed as Oakbase, which he will run alongside the agency's founding director Mel Grundy.

"Nick is one of the north west's most influential marketers and communicators," said Grundy. "His integrated experience from McCann's and latterly Amaze will be a huge asset to Oakbase."

Oakbase specialises in advertising, PR and digital in the retail, B2B, professional services and consumer product sectors. Its key clients include TJ Hughes, BASF and Capita.

Bradshaw said: "Oakbase has built up an extremely loyal client base and staff over the past 25 years that I am looking forward to working alongside. There are a number of opportunities that the business can immediately exploit that will give it a fresh impetus, and to add value to the services it provides."

He added: "Not only will we be able to tap into the north west market that I know so well, but also the burgeoning economy of North Wales."

Details of Bradshaw's stake in the business and the value of his acquisition deal have not been disclosed.
